82

I love 82 by Stone Sour. A part of me feels that this song was specially written for all of us born in the year 1982.

“The track is heavy-duty, but it’s a great statement to hang on to, because if you get back into that mindset, you can get away from it…It doesn’t have to be in that moment, it can be in every moment in your life — once I get away from here, or here, I know I’m going to be OK.” – Corey Taylor, on 82.

Fearless Bands

Fearless Records has some really awesome bands, like Every Avenue, Pierce The Veil, Tonight Alive, and my latest obsession, Blessthefall.

“Watching your empire fall! Watching your ashes fall!”

“Maybe we’re just having too much fun
Maybe you can’t handle yourself
Staring at me with your lips and tongue”

NIN

Industrial rock titans Nine Inch Nails are back. Trent Reznor is back. David Lynch is back.

One word – EPIC.

“The throat is deep and the mouth is wide
Saw some things on the other side
Made me promise to never tell
But you know me, I can’t help myself

Now I’ve got something you have to see
They put something inside of me
The smile is red and its eyes are black
I don’t think I’ll be coming back

I don’t believe it
I had to see it
I came back haunted
I came back haunted

I said goodbye but I
I had to try
I came back haunted
Came back haunted”

All In Due TIme

I’ve been so busy I haven’t blogged in so long…

Here are four great tracks that are on my playlist in the past few months.

Horns up, everybody!

CHTHONIC

I feel nothing for Chthonic’s political convictions, but these Taiwanese melodic death-black metallers are technically proficient! Love Freddy’s usage of the erhu (a Chinese traditional instrument) in their songs.

PARKWAY DRIVE
I’m dying to watch this Aussie metalcore band’s documentary Home Is For The Heartless. Winston McCall is my hero.

H.I.M.
For some strange reason, this video of Into The Night is only 1-minute long. But heck, Ville Valo is one sexy beast. 🙂

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
The best thing to happen to US metalcore stalwarts Killswitch Engage is the return of frontman Jesse Leach.

The Living Infinite

Posted: March 12, 2013 in Uncategorized

Swedish melodic death masters SOILWORK are back with their latest studio release The Living Infinite! And I’m sooo in lurrvve with the 20-track album.

Yes, that’s 20 brand new original tracks for all their fans.

My favourite number is Tongue, which is just fucking catchy. The Momentary Bliss is fantastic too.

This is why metal rocks my world. 🙂

Orange Criminal

Indonesian underground band Orange Criminal make really AWESOME energetic, rocked-out covers of my favourite 2NE1 songs : )

Sandara, CL, Bom and Minzy would be soooo proud.

The originals:

Atlas

Parkway Drive  are hands down, one of the best metalcore bands of today.

After 2010’s awesome, mindblowing Deep Blue, these Aussie surfer dudes have outdone themselves, returning with an even more epic masterpiece.

Atlas, now streaming in its entirety on YouTube, is heavy, hard-hitting, poignant, reflective, philosophical, powerful and cathartic all at once.

Parkway Drive do not just make loud music, they make MEANINGFUL loud music that stays with you for a long, long time.

Meat Loaf’s Power Ballads!

Posted: October 7, 2012 in Uncategorized

“Some days it don’t come easy, and some days it don’t come hard

Some days it don’t come at all, and these are the days that never end

Some nights you’re breathing fire, and some nights you’re carved in ice

Some nights you’re like nothing I’ve ever seen before or will again…”

“I’d pull the sun down from the sky To light your darkest night
I wouldn’t let one drop of rain fall down into your life
Put your heart in my hands…”

Dark Days

Posted: September 12, 2012 in Uncategorized

My favourite Aussie metalcore band Parkway Drive are back with a new song — and it’s amazing!!

If you love your music heavy and emotive, Dark Days will blow your mind apart!

Meanwhile, San Diego veteran metallers As I Lay Dying also return with an energetic masterpiece, A Greater Foundation, slated to be included in their upcoming release, Awakened.

The audio for this YouTube version sucks a lil’, but who cares. Awesome track!

I’m so stoked to learn that Finnish extreme metallers Wintersun will FINALLY be back from with a new album Time after eight long years.

Here’s hoping that there will be excellent tracks in the vein of Beyond The Dark Sun, taking off their debut masterpiece.
